According to research by PwC in June CEOs are more concerned about the impact of a skills shortage on their business than at any point in the last six years. Businesses are faced with a complex and shifting world where technology is driving huge changes.
CEOs are now finding it so difficult to find people with the skills they need to grow their business, that three quarters of the 1,300 CEOs interviewed by PwC rank skills shortage as the biggest threat to their business. New Zealand rates this 84% and up from last year’s figure of 80%.
To solve the talent conundrum, CEOs are increasing their use of contingent workers, part-time employees, outsourcing and service agreements to fill their talent gaps. They are also looking for a wider mix of skills than in the past.
TeleConsultants has been helping clients to fill their talent gaps. We continue to mould our experience and expertise around those of the resources of our clients. Some recent engagements include:
- Providing subject matter expertise in combining contact centres on a new voice platform
- Review of an enterprise grade voice platform with strategic advice of how to manage their voice infrastructure going forward
- Integration of a voice platform with a new mobile radio system and mobile dispatch
- Roadmap to migrate a nationwide organisation to VoIP and centralised SIP
Telecommunications and enterprise voice may be part of IT, often now called ICT, however the skills and expertise are still quite specialised, and nothing beats experience. TeleConsultants can work with your resources to fill these skills shortages, whether temporary or long term, and is keen to share our many years of experience.
